Who We Are

Mission

Gairm prepares people with significant disabilities, veterans, and other under-served populations for skilled employment through registered apprenticeship and vocational training, and provides them sustained, career-pathway employment by directly operating mission-aligned enterprises in which they do the work.

Board of directors

Gairm is governed by an independent board. Every director and officer will be listed here by name and role, with their independence status, as the founding board is seated.

• Independent Chair — the board is chaired by an independent director, not the founder. The Chair leads director recruitment and holds the organization accountable to its mission and scope.
• Founded with three directors, and expanding — a majority of the board is independent of the founder, with dedicated seats planned for disability-employment expertise, veteran-community experience, and lived experience of disability.

Governance

• Standing committees — Audit, Governance & Nominating, and Compensation, each composed of independent directors.
• Conflict-of-interest policy — a written policy covering insider transactions and related-party dealings, modeled on the sample policy in the IRS Form 1023 instructions. Drafted; pending board adoption and attorney review before publication on the Corporate page.
• Executive compensation — set by the Compensation Committee of independent directors using comparable-organization data; the chief executive does not vote on, or attend deliberations about, their own pay. Compensation of all officers, directors, and key employees is disclosed annually in Gairm's Form 990, posted on the Corporate page as filed.
